West Lothian Walking Week is back to celebrate walking!

Did you know that just 30 minutes of walking a day can make a dramatic difference to our health and wellbeing? It’s also a great way to find out more about where you live and there is a LOT to find out about in West Lothian!

Why not join our walk in Livingston to discover the local public art? You could explore the wilder side of Livingston on our pavements, ponds and trails walk. Or perhaps you might like to join medieval soldiers in Linlithgow to trace a pathway though ancient battlefields?

All of these walks – and more! – are part of the annual West Lothian Walking Week partnership event which is taking place from 17th – 23rd September 2012.

The week-long programme of walks gives people of any age and ability the chance to take part in guided walks to explore the beautiful landscape of West Lothian and take the first steps towards a new hobby!

Walking is a free and easy form of physical activity for most people. It can also be very sociable and easily fitted into people’s daily lives. The Walking Week walks cover a range of times throughout the day and a variety of distances so there is something for everyone. And almost all of the guided walks and activities through the week are absolutely free!

Our walking programme contains more information all of the walks available. You can get more information or register onto a walk by contacting: 01506 775626 or email: HIT@westlothian.gov.uk.
