“BLACKBURN LIVES – CELEBRATING OUR SHARED HISTORY”

Community Action Blackburn in partnership with History of Blackburn and West Lothian Council Museums, Local History & Archives are absolutely delighted to share that the Blackburn Lives – Celebrating our Shared History project, has been awarded funding of £13,423 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project will give local pupils a chance to learn about community history while residents will have the opportunity to share memories and take part in reminiscence sessions. This funding will also support the creation of our very own Blackburn Museum, which will be based right in the heart of our community within Blackburn Partnership Centre.

We would like to thank the National Lottery Heritage Fund for providing us with this opportunity and also a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us through taking part in our surveys and shown interest in our project. Finally, we would also like to thank the National Lottery players, who make this funding possible.

This is just the beginning of something very special for Blackburn and we look forward to taking the community of Blackburn on the journey with us.

An event within Blackburn Partnership Centre to launch this wonderful project will take place on Wednesday 8th October between 12-1pm and 6-7pm.
